Waving Tentacles
After consulting with John at SideFX software, I decided to play around a little more with the motion of the tentacles. His advice was to apply the Twist Expression several different groupings of Primitives on the tentacles. I found this distorted the tentacles buy I may not be applying his advice properly. I prefer earlier version of the wavy tentacles. I will we need two on this more and try some other techniques.
Just for my knowledge and mnemonic edification, here are some important expressions to remember:
1*abs(2-(2.3*PCT))) ------ Scale on the SWEEP to get a tapered tentacle
sin(($F*5)*10)*10 ------ Strength of the TWIST on the SWEEP
Angled Geometry animated with UV Camera Projection
Here is the angled view of the quick time below. I should do a another version with better lighting but I think this version illustrates how the Camera Projection is functioning. The animation is temporary for now - sin($F*4). I will tie the animation to a CHOPS network eventually (so the buildings behave like an audio meter). Or randomize the animation of the COPYsop. Any opinions on this? I do like the angling of the geometry and will angle the set in the final version. BTW, the texture being projected is a photoshop collage of various cities.
